Random girl with random girl-head in background. I really need to stop dragging my pictures out over weeks. *wince*
Why 'polar redemption'? Because the background was made using graphs of polar curves. To be exact: r = 3sin(cos(tan(5t))) and r = 2sin(cos(tan(3t))), if that makes sense to you xD. *is behind on polar homework*
>> sketch (mechanical pencil) and inking (ballpoint pen) on paper; colour in OpenCanvas; put together in Photoshop CS; polar curves plotted in Winplot; background done entirely in Photoshop CS; and hell, saving done in Paint. Because Paint can compress pictures like Photoshop doesn't seem to be able to without losing detail like crap.
