I fail at non-cutesy children. (You know she's supposed to be 10? 0: )

But experimenting with colour values and tone and stuff--PE FTW. Need moar practice plz. Expect possibly black-and-white pictures on ~sarezel soon.

Aww I think she's really cute I love the mosaic type backround, and the little hints of brown in her hair, it really balances the picture out!

The art is still the nice thing I've come to know you about. I thought the BG really did help some in this picture!

But seriously, if I were to comment, there were two major flaws that I'll pick you on which were rare errors...!

1. This is one you told me about. Unequal eyeball sizes for a 45 degrees perspective. How come the eyes seem the same size on this one!

2. This is unbelievably unreasonable from yours truly, but... the way I look at it, I'm looking at a perfectly *normal* bling-bling girl straight out of some Hollywood district. I'd have thought some rich girl who lives along Beverly Hills look like this, and I know it's plain wrong because it's supposed to be a, what, 10-year old?
For a child, the head is more than a tad bigger, I think. This is too adult-sized!

But, your plus points!

1. Whatever lilena pointed out. Not because I'm doing this blindly, lilena had pointed out the technical issues I am not at position to help you much about...

2. If I looked at this without being told, I'll only pick you for my first bad point which were the same-sized eyeballs issue. If I told myself "See, Pas, this is a girl on a sidewalk cafe!" then this picture would really fit the bill~~~! I don't doubt this picture is a caricature of a 20-something lady from a steampunk-setting kind of Paris, or New York!
Heck, if my drawing skills were close to yours, I'll draw you a steampunk hero to watch over her in the distance! That's how good the picture could've been!

I have a beat I can't let go.
I have a power I can't yield.
I have all that is necessary to make this world flow.
I have me.

lol, like I said: fail at non-cutesy children.

FAIL.
FAIL.
FAIL.

Re: the eyes, I think the true problem is that the angle of the body, the arms, the book and the face don't quite match. Need to work on that issue, dammit--I have this 'default setting' for faces that doesn't always match the body position. Silly bad habits.

Do not think of it as a failure if you learned something! I don't have the greatest reference pictures of her anyways. I do not think it is so much that the eyes are the same size more than one is just so much lower compared to the angle of her head. But like I said at PE I still love her hand and the book. And I am no good at drawing kids myself. I know I say she is 10, and I really can see her 10 year old self in my head, but kids are so hard for me to draw. That is why I can only really draw her sort of chibi-esque. Anyways...thanks

People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when bathed in light but their true beauty can only be seen in the darkness when a light shines from within.
